How IoT Logic works
IoT Logic is a fully integrated feature in Navixy that not only serves as a self-sufficient data management tool but also enhances the platform’s telematics functionality. It allows you to collect, process, and distribute data from various GPS and IoT devices in real time without worrying about device-specific protocols.
How it works
When a device sends data to the platform, it does so using a native protocol—a format specific to the device manufacturer. IoT Logic is capable of receiving this data as is through multiple communication methods: TCP/UDP, HTTP, MQTT, and API. Before the data reaches further processing steps, it is decoded and standardized, relying on Navixy’s proven parsers and decoders.
Once pre-processed, IoT Logic allows you to customize and manage the data in several ways:
Enrich data and edit its attributes to make the information more suitable for your specific use case.
Monitor incoming data in real time, with access to both the latest records and historical logs.
Choose where to send the enriched data, whether within Navixy or to external systems. The first available method for third-party transmission is MQTT, ensuring seamless integration with other applications.
Because IoT Logic operates in real-time, the time gap between the device sending data and your service receiving it is minimal. Moreover, there’s no need for your server to interpret each device protocol or manage complex conditions—Navixy handles that for you by introducing its generic protocol to standardize data format. Additionally, vendors can integrate their own solutions, broadening the range of supported devices.
How to access IoT Logic
You can configure IoT Logic directly within the Navixy platform interface, where you’ll find all the necessary tools to set up data streams and monitor transmissions. The interface makes it easy to define how data should be processed and where it should be sent.
To get started, simply navigate to the IoT Logic section in the Account settings of the platform.
Note.
IoT Logic workspace is available only to account Owners, and is not displayed for common Users. For details on user roles in Navixy, see Users and Roles in User documentation.
From there, you can:
Set up data streams for specific devices.
Define how the data should be structured and labeled.
Configure data transmitting to third-party systems.
