Data Source node

IoT Logic receives device readings through Data Source nodes, which function as the primary input components of the IoT Logic Data Bridge system. These nodes receive raw telemetry data from IoT devices and OEM platforms, accepting information in the devices' native formats and maintaining their original structure before any transformation occurs.

The Data Source nodes are configured for each flow in the Navixy platform UI. To see detailed descriptions of node setting options and step-by-step instructions, see Data Source node in User documentation.

This component operates with actual data sources connected to the Navixy platform, leveraging established parsers and decoders to handle incoming data streams. The node supports multiple communication protocols, including TCP, UDP, HTTP, and MQTT, allowing it to process input from various IoT devices and platforms.

Here are the general capabilities of the node:

  • Accepts connections through TCP, UDP, and HTTP protocols on network interfaces

  • Integrates with MQTT broker for receiving traffic through MQTT queues

  • Allows configuration of multiple Data Source nodes within a single flow to support different device manufacturers and their specific protocols

  • Works with any data sources registered in the user's account

  • Maintains compatibility with existing Navixy parsers and decoders

Notes

  • A GPS device can be assigned to only one Data Source node at a time, meaning it cannot simultaneously belong to multiple nodes.

  • There can be multiple Data Source nodes in a single flow.

  • Data can be received exclusively from sources registered in the user's account on the platform.

  • A Data Source node cannot accept incoming connections from other nodes.

  • The node cannot operate in isolation—every source node must be connected to subsequent nodes for proper data processing.
